Passwords are important for the security of your account. We do not restrict what you use as a password except for a minimum length of 8 characters. We recommend your passwords be a mix of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols available on your keyboard. We recommend your password be much longer than 8 characters.
Anyone can request a connection. We will fight spamming whenever we find out about it. We recommend you be certain whom you are connecting with and cautious with what information you share with others. All information in your profile are optional, and you choose what information you share with each connection.
Your first step in Nicle should be to view your Profile. Your first name and last name were added here and defaulted to Public.
An explanation of what Public means. The setting of public is defaulted only for First and Last names. The setting only effects what is SEARCHABLE publicly within the Nicle system. If you do not want to be found by anything but your name then leave everything else as private.
All items you enter in your profile are OPTIONAL. You enter only what you choose to. You could even remove your first and last name, if you wish.
Once you have created a profile of information about yourself, you can start building templates. Templates are groupings of profile information.
For example, for your extended family you may want to provide your name, cell, email, home number, and home address. For your co-workers, you may want to share your name, cell, work address and title, and email. For a possible new date, you may just want to share name and cell number. For a business that wants you as a customer, perhaps you share only your name and email address. For a networking conference, you could share email and workplace information.
Because there are so many different groupings of what information you may want to share with different people, Nicle provides you the ability to create Templates.
When you create a connection with someone new, you provide a Template to that user of the information you wish to provide to that person. You can change what template you provide to this user whenever you like. You can change what information is in the template as often as you wish.
Whatever template you provide will dictate what profile information you share with each user. When your profile information changes, when you move, change jobs, whatever the reason, all those changes are updated to those users that have a template with that information.
Once your profile and templates have been created, you are ready to make connections. Any information you or others allows to be public can be searched from here. Find a new connection through here, offer them one of your templates and that person can decide to share a template of personal information with you.
Fairly simple, this is a simple list of your contacts. Click on any name and it will show whatever contact information this connection allows you to have. You can favorite a contact and make sure they stay at the top of your address book. The address book always starts with your favorites and some of your most commonly clicked contacts - if you need to see your entire list just click on the All box at the top beside search.
If your address book is getting long then use the search field above to narrow the list.
